What a beautiful day to be “out of shape”. It still amazes me how long it takes to get into shape but how little time it takes to get out of shape! Going to be a long January as I prepare to get ready to start 5th third training again in February.  Sunshine on the order for today so we need to enjoy it! Winter will be back soon!

Well for the third time in a year I have gone back to taking my Crestor. This time I’m going to reduce the Niaspan a little to see if the muscle pain stays away.  I’m going to go back to 750 mg. of Niaspan until my next doctor visit with 5mg Crestor and see how it goes with my numbers as well as see if the muscle soreness stays controllable.

We had a fantastic time on our golf vacation in Arizona and I got our for a couple of runs.  The weather was perfect with highs each day in the upper 60’s and low 7o’s everyday we were there.  The sun is so beneficial for your mood and my mood improved greatly everyday we were there.  The golf scores weren’t wonderful but a bad day of golf in the sun is always better than a good round in the rain!

Time to commit myself back to a daily exercise routine. My laziness has invaded my lifestyle once again and I need to get back into a disciplined regimen again.  Need to convince the wife to join me every other day for a walk which would make it more enjoyable again. My new goal is to lose 30 lbs. by May 1st which is just before the 5th Third River Bank Run 25K.  211 lbs. is not where I want to be.  Wish me luck!

6.3 Mile Fitness Run 12/10/11 – And Winter Running Begins!

Started off on today’s run in 16 deg. temperatures and finished 6+ miles later at 18 deg.! Nice crisp morning for a run for sure though and went fine.  This has been a busy and challenging week for a lot of reasons but finally it’s the weekend and time to begin thinking about booking our vacation in two weeks.

Had my colonoscopy this week and have my clean bill of health for another ten years.  People should never put this off because I had the ability to overhear another lady be told about having 13 polyps removed and some very large ones at that. She will be back in 3 months to have it checked again and hopefully none turn out cancerous for her.  Don’t wait and I promise, you won’t remember a thing!

Healthwise all is good and I’m down about 5 lbs. Only 15 to go by February when it’s time to start training for the 25K again!
