The Best Weight Loss Comment I Could Have Received!

Having been on this new quest for more than 10 months now, I have received a number of compliments from many of my friends, co-workers, and family, but the other week I received the best compliment I have received so far from one of my granddaughters.

My oldest granddaughter Ava, who had a 4th birthday not too long ago, made comment that I won’t soon forget when got to her house to help her celebrate her special day.  I hadn’t seen her in a couple of months and when I walked in she proudly proclaimed to everyone in the room “look!  Opa had his baby!”

I couldn’t have been more flattered by anything I could have thought of myself and that exclamation from the “mouth of babes” as they say, was to me so touching that I was smiling ear to ear!  She was absolutely right too.  As long as she’s known me, Opawalked around with a “baby in his stomach” and when I saw her she would always comment or ask, why I had a “baby in my stomach”. 

Of course I found this to be cute when she said it, but inside it was a sad thing to admit and that was that “Opa looked like he was pregnant”.  I must now say, I can’t believe that I waited so long to loose all of the weight I have through my current weight loss and exercise program and finally “have my baby” as my granddaughter put it.

Don’t ever give up trying.  I promise that you will thank yourself when you finally start on the path to better health and move toward those weight loss goals that you have set up for yourself.  You can shed that fat unhealthy self you’ve carried around all this time that was just “just one pound ago”.  Weight loss starts one pound at a time, but it has to start in order to end.  Get up off your lard bucket and do something.  Stop making excuses and just get going. 

You can follow any reasonable diet you choose and if you do nothing more than walk to start with, you will loose weight.  There will be days that you don’t feel like it, but if you set realistic goals for your weight loss and find a diet you can stick to, you’ll loose the weight.  Don’t put it off any longer.  Don’t use the excuse that the holidays are upon us and you will start after the holidays.  Start now and you can easily be ten pounds lighter by the holidays!

If you don’t know where to start with your weight loss diet you can simply start by doing things like adding more fruits and vegetables, eliminating processed foods, choose leaner and smaller cuts of beef and pork or switch to poultry, eat more fish, and by all means, loose the unhealthy snacks and “meals between meals”.  It’s time to loose the “I don’t eat that bad” excuse.  If you are fat and you don’t have a rare genetic problem, you aren’t eating good or are eating too much and it needs to be fixed.  Get your food log going today and never forget that just “one pound ago” you can choose to change your life forever!  Start working towards “having your baby” today!
