Been real lazy about updating this blog. Almost seemed like we hit the pinnacle on the Fifth Third 25K and then got real lazy about our running habits. I’ve put on 20 lbs. over the summer and feeling terrible again. Time to go back to work and get myself back fit.
Just goes to show you how quickly all your work can fall apart if you lose focus. Old habits come back way too easily. Haven’t stopped eating healthy in general but have relapsed into the evening snacking habit and need to curb that most of all. I always have a bad time running in the summer because I don’t like the heat but summer is now past and time to start enjoying the fall runs.
Last week we went out for 6 miles and I felt terrible. My calves hurt, and I couldn’t keep my heart rate below 160 while running. It was crazy! I had switched back to Lipitor from Crestor due to cost now that Lipitor is generic but I was quickly remembering how painful it is compared to Crestor also.
This week I stopped taking the blood pressure medication (Lisinopril) and cut my statin meds in half. Felt much better and more like normal for this weeks run. I always find it amazing how meds that are supposed to be good for you can make you feel like total crap! Anyway, felt much better and actually was enjoying the run today so hopefully that’s a good sign for the moving forward.
