Another 5K run in the books. Wasn’t my best time and was headed towards 80 deg. at 8 AM in the morning but heck, I do these for fitness and fun and nothing more so just finishing them is an “atta boy” for me any day! Had a good run none the less and didn’t finish that far off my usual pace for a 5K so I’m happy.
I am on vacation and spending most of it working in the basement to finish up the new screen printing shop. Making good progress and I should be done with it by the time vacation is over and that was the goal. It’s actually usable as it is now but needs to have the trimmings completed if you will.
Health remains generally good. Cholesterol is under control as usual and diabetes remains controlled with diet alone so that is always a good thing. I don’t want to have to take medication for that one and it’s a disease that will kill you in a hurry if you don’t take care of yourself. Obviously the initial weight loss was the biggest answer to that but I have to remind myself why I do this from time to time.
I have continued to use MyFitnessPal on my Droid to track my calories and that’s a must. It’s just way too easy to start eating way too much again without monitoring what you are putting into your mouth. I was a huge proponent of food diaries when I was loosing weight and I still am for weight maintenance as well. You are what you eat after all
