Well, winter has officially arrived here in west Michigan. Made my first run in the snow and I honestly had forgotten how much I just love dodging snow plows as I cruise around the neighborhood…not! Running in snow is at times like running in beach sand so that makes it a great workout I guess.
January officially marks the beginning of 25K training for me. I managed to keep my weekend runs at at least 6 miles so I don’t have to start from scratch but I must say I’m not relishing the 11, 12, and 13 milers ahead. Once I’ve done it again, it’s fine but those first few weeks of increased mileage always plays with my head.
Each weekend I’ll need to add a mile or so that run to be ready for the 15.5 miles coming in May. My first official 5K will be the Irish Jig in March which is kind of the inaugural running event here locally.
